The Fourth (Chapter): The acquisition of the virtues of an ordained monk. At the age of 22, he acquired the virtues of an ordained monk before a congregation of 20 monks, the mahā-upādhyāya don grub dpal ba of the tshogs chen pas, who belonged to the immaculate lineage of ordination of the Great Kashmirian paṇḍita, acting as upādhyāya, the Lord 'gos lo tsā ba gzhon nu dpal[1] as karma-ācārya, and the great dpal 'byor as Secret Preceptor (gsang ston). He became possessed of an excellent pure conduct which was pleasing to Saints (Ārya).
