The Dharnnasvamin bkra shis dpal 'od pa was born in the year Earth Male Mouse (sa pho byi ba 1408 A.D.). He came to the abbot’s chair in the year Iron Dog (lcags khyi 1430 A.D.) at the age of 23. He occupied the chair for 31 years, and passed away at the age of 53 in the year Iron Dragon (lcags 'brug 1460 A.D.).
