Sri Vyagrapureeswarar Temple

The village, Puliparkoil lies at a distance of two miles from Padalam railway station. It is believed that this temple was built during the reign of Cholas and it is mentioned in the Sthalapuranam of Thirukalikundram.[1] The temple covers an area of 40 cents. The Moolavar is a Swayambu. One pooja is performed daily. An extent of 982 acres of wet and dry lands belonging to the Devasthanam is under lease cultivation from. which income is got annually. The important annual festival is celebrated on the day following the Pongal and about 1,000 devotees attend it. Four trustees manage the affairs of the temple.[2]
