The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मुदिताद्याः श्रियो वक्रं न मुञ्चन्ति कदाचन ।
गलत्यहंकारमये चित्ते गलति दुष्कृते ॥ ३ ॥

galatyahaṃkāramaye citte galati duṣkṛte || 3 ||

The purity of the soul appears vividly in the bright and placid countenance of a man, after his egoism and its accompanying faults are all melted down in his mortified mind.
