The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथा द्रवत्वं पयसि यथा स्पन्दो नभस्वति ।
यथा नभसि शून्यत्वं तथा सर्गत्वमात्मनि ॥ ४ ॥

yathā dravatvaṃ payasi yathā spando nabhasvati |
yathā nabhasi śūnyatvaṃ tathā sargatvamātmani || 4 ||

As fluidity is the nature of liquids, and fluctuation is that of the winds, and as vacuity is the state of the sky, so is creation the condition of the spirit or divine soul.
