The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.71.8

देहनाशेन कोऽर्थस्ते कोऽर्थस्ते देहसंस्थया ।
भव त्वं प्रकृतारम्भस्तिष्ठत्वेष यथास्थितम् ॥ ८ ॥

dehanāśena ko'rthaste ko'rthaste dehasaṃsthayā |
bhava tvaṃ prakṛtārambhastiṣṭhatveṣa yathāsthitam || 8 ||

Although the body is nothing, yet it must not be destroyed by any means; because you gain nothing by destroying it, nor lose anything by its firmness; but remain in the continuance of your duties, and leave the body to go on in its own wonted course.
