The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.56.13

अकर्तृ कुर्वदप्येतच्चेतः प्रतनुवासनम् ।
दूरं गतमना जन्तुः कथासंश्रवणे यथा ॥ १३ ॥

akartṛ kurvadapyetaccetaḥ pratanuvāsanam |
dūraṃ gatamanā jantuḥ kathāsaṃśravaṇe yathā || 13 ||

The man who is unrelated with the actions which he does, but bears a mind which is free from desires, such as the mind of a man engrossed with other thoughts; he is sensible of what he hears and sees, with his organs only, without being affected by them.
