223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.34.31

वासनाचित्तनामानौ शब्दावर्थसमन्वितौ ।
सत्यावलोकनाद्यत्र विलीनौ तत्परं पदम् ॥ ३१ ॥

vāsanācittanāmānau śabdāvarthasamanvitau |
satyāvalokanādyatra vilīnau tatparaṃ padam || 31 ||

The two significant words of the will and mind are mere insignificant fictions, as head and trunk of the ascending and descending nodes of a planet; which upon their right understanding, are lost in the Supreme Spirit.
