The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रोत्तुङ्गसुरशैलाग्रवैदूर्यशिखरप्रभा ।
अथवार्कांशुदुर्भेदा तिमिरश्रीः स्थितोपरि ॥ ३२ ॥
prottuṅgasuraśailāgravaidūryaśikharaprabhā |
athavārkāṃśudurbhedā timiraśrīḥ sthitopari || 32 ||
Ignorance (avidya) is painted in the imagination of earthly men, to be as dark as the darkness which surrounds the highest pinnacle of Meru, blazing with the blue light of sapphire, or at the primeval darkness impenetrable by the solar light.
