The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

रथौघश्च रथौघेन निष्पिपेषाखिलं वपुः ।
नगरं नगरेणेव दैवेनोड्डीनमासुरम् ॥ ८ ॥
rathaughaśca rathaughena niṣpipeṣākhilaṃ vapuḥ |
nagaraṃ nagareṇeva daivenoḍḍīnamāsuram || 8 ||
Cars falling upon cars, and chariots running against chariots, broke one another to pieces;and the citizens beat the rustics, as the Devas smote the demons of old.
