The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.1.40

न च पाषाणतातुल्या रूढिं याताः समाधयः ।
भवन्त्यग्रपदं शान्तं चिद्रूपमजमक्षयम् ॥ ४० ॥

na ca pāṣāṇatātulyā rūḍhiṃ yātāḥ samādhayaḥ |
bhavantyagrapadaṃ śāntaṃ cidrūpamajamakṣayam || 40 ||

Even the nirudha or steadfast meditation which has attained the fixedness of a rock, cannot advance one step towards the attainment of that tranquillity which has no bounds to it.
