नित्यानामक्रिया यस्माल्लक्षयित्वैति सत्वरा ।
प्रत्यवायक्रियां तस्माल्लक्षणार्थे शता भवेत् ॥ २१ ॥
nityānāmakriyā yasmāllakṣayitvaiti satvarā |
pratyavāyakriyāṃ tasmāllakṣaṇārthe śatā bhavet || 21 ||
English translation of verse 1.21:
Since non-performance of obligatory rites, having indicated sin, immediately ceases to function, the suffix śatṛ is used in the sense of indication.
