The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.2.13; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

प्रियात् प्रियस्य किम् उत सर्व-लोकोत्तरोत्तरा ।
इत्य् अत्र विस्मये प्रोक्ता रत्य्-अनुग्रह-माधुरी ॥४.२.१३॥

priyāt priyasya kim uta sarva-lokottarottarā |
ity atra vismaye proktā raty-anugraha-mādhurī
||4.2.13||

English translation

“Therefore it goes without saying that if the dearest person performs the most extraordinary actions, it will certainly produce extreme astonishment. Thus the sweetness produced from rati (through a primary rasa of love) has also been mentioned in this discussion of vismaya-rasa.”

iti śrī-śrī-bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhāv uttara-vibhāge
gauṇa-bhakti-rasa-nirūpaṇe adbhuta-bhakti-rasa-laharī dvitīyā ||

“Thus ends the Second Wave in the Northern Ocean of Śrī Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu, concerning adbhuta-bhakti-rasa.
