The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.4.40; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा वा —
प्रेक्ष्य प्रेक्ष्य दिशः स-शङ्कम् असकृन् मन्दं पदं निक्षिपन्
नायात्य् एष लतान्तरे स्फुटम् इतो गव्यं हरिष्यन् हरिः ।
तिष्ठ स्वैरम् अजानतीव मुखरे चौर्य-भ्रमद्-भ्रू-लतं
त्रस्यल्-लोचनम् अस्य शुष्यद्-अधरं रम्यं दिदृक्षे मुखम् ॥३.४.४०॥yathā vā —
prekṣya prekṣya diśaḥ sa-śaṅkam asakṛn mandaṃ padaṃ nikṣipan
nāyāty eṣa latāntare sphuṭam ito gavyaṃ hariṣyan hariḥ |
tiṣṭha svairam ajānatīva mukhare caurya-bhramad-bhrū-lataṃ
trasyal-locanam asya śuṣyad-adharaṃ ramyaṃ didṛkṣe mukham ||3.4.40||
English translation
Another example:
“O Mukharā! Kṛṣṇa, looking all around in fear and walking softly, has certainly come to steal the butter by darting out from behind the creepers. Remain here, pretending not to know. I desire to see His attractive face, dry and with frightened eyes as He moves His brows, thinking of how to steal the butter.”
