The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 3.2.115; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा —
बलि-सुत-भुज-षण्ड-खण्डनाय
क्षतज-पुरं पुरुषोत्तमे प्रयाते ।
विधूत-विधुर-बुद्धिर् उद्धवो’यं
विरह-निरुद्ध-मना निरुद्धवो’भूत् ॥३.२.११५॥yathā —
bali-suta-bhuja-ṣaṇḍa-khaṇḍanāya
kṣataja-puraṃ puruṣottame prayāte |
vidhūta-vidhura-buddhir uddhavo’yaṃ
viraha-niruddha-manā niruddhavo’bhūt ||3.2.115||
English translation
An example of viyoga:
“When Kṛṣṇa went to Śonitapura to cut the arms of Bāṇa (the son of Bali), Uddhava’s mind became overwhelmed with separation. His intelligence was shaken because of suffering, and he became devoid of bliss.”
