The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.89; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

उन्मादवद् इह व्याधि-विशेषो’प्य् एष वर्णितः ।
परां भयानकाभासे यत् करोति चमत्कृतिम् ॥२.४.८९॥

unmādavad iha vyādhi-viśeṣo’py eṣa varṇitaḥ |
parāṃ bhayānakābhāse yat karoti camatkṛtim
||2.4.89||

English translation

“This sickness called apasmāra has been described separately from sickness, as in the case of unmāda, since it produces an extremely astonishing state with a hint of bhayānaka-rasa (fear).”
