The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.58; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

गात्रोत्कम्पी मनः-कम्पः सहसा त्रास उच्यते ।
पूर्वापर-विचारोत्थं भयं त्रासात् पृथग् भवेत् ॥२.४.५८॥

gātrotkampī manaḥ-kampaḥ sahasā trāsa ucyate |
pūrvāpara-vicārotthaṃ bhayaṃ trāsāt pṛthag bhavet
||2.4.58||

English translation

“Disturbance of the heart that suddenly produces shaking of the limbs is called trāsa. This is different from fear. Fear arises after deliberating on previous and subsequent events.”
