तत्र महार्त्या, यथा —
हन्त देह-हतकैः किम् अमीभिः
पालितैर् विफल-पुण्य-फलैर् नः ।
एहि कालिय-ह्रदे विष-वह्नौ
स्वं कुटुम्बिनि हठाज् जुहवाम ॥२.४.८॥tatra mahārtyā, yathā —
hanta deha-hatakaiḥ kim amībhiḥ
pālitair viphala-puṇya-phalair naḥ |
ehi kāliya-hrade viṣa-vahnau
svaṃ kuṭumbini haṭhāj juhavāma ||2.4.8||
English translation
From great sorrow:
“O Yaśodā! What is to be gained from continuing to maintain this sinful, unfortunate body? Come! We will immediately offer our bodies in the lake of Kāliya filled with the fire of poison.”
