The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.356; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. माला त्रिधा वैजयन्ती रत्न-माला वन-स्रजः ।
अस्या वैकक्षकापीड-प्रालम्बाद्या भिदा मताः ॥२.१.३५६॥mālā tridhā vaijayantī ratna-mālā vana-srajaḥ |
asyā vaikakṣakāpīḍa-prālambādyā bhidā matāḥ ||2.1.356||
English translation
“There are three types of garland: vaijayantī, jewel garland and forest garland. They may also extend over the serve as a chaplet around the topknot, or hang down from the neck.”
