The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.79; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

द्वितीयो, यथा —
मृत्युस् तस्कर-मण्डले सुकृतिनां वृन्दे वसन्तानिलः
कन्दर्पो रमणीषु दुर्गत-कुले कल्याण-कल्प-द्रुमः ।
इन्दुर् बन्धु-गणे विपक्ष-पटले कालाग्नि-रुद्राकृतिः शास्ति
स्वस्ति-धुरन्धरो मधुपुरीं नीत्या मधूनां पतिः ॥२.१.७८॥

dvitīyo, yathā —
mṛtyus taskara-maṇḍale sukṛtināṃ vṛnde vasantānilaḥ
kandarpo ramaṇīṣu durgata-kule kalyāṇa-kalpa-drumaḥ |
indur bandhu-gaṇe vipakṣa-paṭale kālāgni-rudrākṛtiḥ śāsti
svasti-dhurandharo madhupurīṃ nītyā madhūnāṃ patiḥ
||2.1.78||

थे सेचोन्द् त्य्पे ओf लेअर्निन्ग्, क्नोwलेद्गे ओf प्रोपेर् चोन्दुच्त्, इस् इल्लुस्त्रतेद्: “थे लोर्द् ओf थे मधुस्, कृष्ण, इस् देअथ् fओर् थे थिएवेस्; थे स्प्रिन्ग् ब्रेएzए fओर् थे पिओउस्; चुपिद् fओर् थे योउन्ग् wओमेन्; अ देसिरे त्रेए fओर् थे पोवेर्त्य्- स्त्रिच्केन्; अ चोओलिन्ग् मोओन् fओर् हिस् fरिएन्द्स्; थे fइरे ओf fइनल् देस्त्रुच्तिओन् इन् थे fओर्म् ओf रुद्र fओर् थे एनेमिएस्. हे प्रोतेच्त्स् मथुरा अन्द् द्वारका ब्य् हिस् जुदिचिओउस् चोन्दुच्त् इन् रेलतिओन् तो अल्ल् पेओप्ले.”

(१२) बुद्धिमान् —
मेधावी सूक्ष्मधीश् चेति प्रोच्यते बुद्धिमान् द्विधा ॥२.१.७९॥

The second type of learning, knowledge of proper conduct, is illustrated: “The Lord of the Madhus, Kṛṣṇa, is death for the thieves; the spring breeze for the pious; Cupid for the young women; a desire tree for the poverty- stricken; a cooling moon for His friends; the fire of final destruction in the form of Rudra for the enemies. He protects Mathurā and Dvārakā by His judicious conduct in relation to all people.”

(12) buddhimān —
medhāvī sūkṣmadhīś ceti procyate buddhimān dvidhā ||2.1.79||

English translation

(12) buddhimān: intelligent —
Buddhimān means the capacity to absorb knowledge and possessing fine intelligence.”
