The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.1.25; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

अविद्या-हरत्वम्, यथा चतुर्थे (४.२२.३९) —
यत्-पाद-पङ्कज-पलाश-विलास-भक्त्या
कर्माशयं ग्रथितम् उद्ग्रथयन्ति सन्तः ।
तद्वन् न रिक्त-मतयो यतयो’पि रुद्ध-
स्रोतो-गणास् तम् अरणं भज वासुदेवम् ॥१.१.२५॥

avidyā-haratvam, yathā caturthe (4.22.39) —
yat-pāda-paṅkaja-palāśa-vilāsa-bhaktyā
karmāśayaṃ grathitam udgrathayanti santaḥ |
tadvan na rikta-matayo yatayo’pi ruddha-
sroto-gaṇās tam araṇaṃ bhaja vāsudevam
||1.1.25||

English translation

Next bhakti’s ability to destroy avidyā(ignorance) is illustrated [in Śrīmad- Bhāgavatam 4.22.39]:
“The devotees, who are always engaged in the service of the toes of the lotus feet of the Lord, can very easily overcome hard-knotted desires for fruitive activities. Because this is very difficult, the nondevotees—the jñānīs and yogīs—although trying to stop the waves of sense gratification, cannot do so. Therefore you are advised to engage in the devotional service of Kṛṣṇa, the son of Vasudeva.”
