Rig Veda 6.16.18

Sanskrit text [Accents, Plain, Transliterated]:

न॒हि ते॑ पू॒र्तम॑क्षि॒पद्भुव॑न्नेमानां वसो । अथा॒ दुवो॑ वनवसे ॥
नहि ते पूर्तमक्षिपद्भुवन्नेमानां वसो । अथा दुवो वनवसे ॥
nahi te pūrtam akṣipad bhuvan nemānāṃ vaso | athā duvo vanavase ||

English translation:

“Let not your full (blaze) be distressing to the eye, giver of dwellings to your humble votaries, and therefore accept our worship.”

Commentary by Sāyaṇa: Ṛgveda-bhāṣya

Distressing to the eye: nahi pūrtam akṣipadbhuvat = akṣipat akṣṇo patākam vināśakam, the offender or destroyer of the eye
