यु॒वामिद्ध्यव॑से पू॒र्व्याय॒ परि॒ प्रभू॑ती ग॒विष॑: स्वापी । वृ॒णी॒महे॑ स॒ख्याय॑ प्रि॒याय॒ शूरा॒ मंहि॑ष्ठा पि॒तरे॑व श॒म्भू ॥
युवामिद्ध्यवसे पूर्व्याय परि प्रभूती गविषः स्वापी । वृणीमहे सख्याय प्रियाय शूरा मंहिष्ठा पितरेव शम्भू ॥
yuvām id dhy avase pūrvyāya pari prabhūtī gaviṣaḥ svāpī | vṛṇīmahe sakhyāya priyāya śūrā maṃhiṣṭhā pitareva śambhū ||
English translation:
“Desirous of (possessing) cattlle, we have recourse to you, Indra and Varuṇa, for full protection, you who are powerful and kind as (kinsmen); we have recourse to you, adorable heroes, for (your) friendship and affection, (to you who are), like parents, givers of happiness.”
