Verse 1.79 [Regime of one Manu]

यद् प्राग् द्वादशसाहस्रमुदितं दैविकं युगम् ।
तदेकसप्ततिगुणं मन्वन्तरमिहोच्यते ॥ ७९ ॥yad prāg dvādaśasāhasramuditaṃ daivikaṃ yugam |
tadekasaptatiguṇaṃ manvantaramihocyate || 79 ||The ‘Time-cycle of the Gods’ which has been described above as consisting of ‘twelve thousand periods,’—this multiplied by ‘seventy-one’ forms what is known here as ‘Manvantara’ (Regime of a Manu).—(79)
