The Garga-samhita Verse 8.10.19, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 8 of Chapter 10 (The Paddhati and Patala of Lord Balarama) of Canto 8 (balabhadra-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

जपेल् लक्षं व्रती भूत्वा
सहस्राणि च षोडश
इहामूत्र परां सिद्धिं
सम्प्राप्नोति न संशयह्

japel lakṣaṃ vratī bhūtvā
sahasrāṇi ca ṣoḍaśa
ihāmūtra parāṃ siddhiṃ
samprāpnoti na saṃśayah

japet—one should chant; lakṣam—a hundred thousand times; vratīfollowing a vow; bhūtvā—becoming; sahasrāṇi—thousand; ca—and; ṣoḍaśasixteen; iha—in this life; amūtra—and the next; parām—supreme; siddhim—perfection; samprāpnoti—attains; na—no; saṃśayah—doubt.

English translation of verse 8.10.19:

Following this vow one should chant this mantra 116,000 times. Thus one will attain the supreme perfection in this life and the next. Of this there is no doubt.
