परां व्यथां गतो युद्धे
पतितो ऽपि समुत्थितः
तदाग्रजेन या दत्ता
तां गदां तु गदो ऽग्रहीत्
parāṃ vyathāṃ gato yuddhe
patito 'pi samutthitaḥ
tadāgrajena yā dattā
tāṃ gadāṃ tu gado 'grahīt
parāṃgreat; vyathām—agitation; gataḥ—attained; yuddhe—in the fight; patitaḥ—fallen; api—although; samutthitaḥ—risen; tadā—then; agrajena—by his elder brother; yā—which; dattā—was given; tām—that; gadām—club; tu—indeed; gadaḥ—Gada; agrahīt—grasped.
English translation of verse 6.6.32:
Fallen to the ground, agitated Gada stood up and took a club that was a gift from his elder brother Balarāma.
