स्व-ज्ञाति-बन्धु-रक्षार्थं
समुद्रे भीम-नादिनि
चकार द्वारका-दुर्गं
एक-रत्रेण माधवः

sva-jñāti-bandhu-rakṣārthaṃ
samudre bhīma-nādini
cakāra dvārakā-durgaṃ
eka-ratreṇa mādhavaḥ

sva-jñāti-bandhu-rakṣārtham—to protecte His friends and relatives; samudre—in the ocean; bhīma-nādiniwith terrible roaring sounds; cakāradid; dvārakā-durgam—the fort of Dvārakā; eka-ratreṇa—in one night; mādhavaḥ—Lord Kṛṣṇa.

English translation of verse 6.2.8:

Then, in one night Lord Kṛṣṇa built the Dvārakā fort in the middle of the ocean filled with fearful roaring sounds.
