The Garga-samhita Verse 5.18.4, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 18 (Uddhava Hears the Gopis’ Words and Returns to Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

श्री-समुद्र-कन्या ऊचुः
नित्यं गृह-शतं यान्ति
दात्री दुःखं सुखं जनान्
स्वीया कथं सुशीला च
चञ्चलास्मिन् कथं स्थिता

śrī-samudra-kanyā ūcuḥ
nityaṃ gṛha-śataṃ yānti
dātrī duḥkhaṃ sukhaṃ janān
svīyā kathaṃ suśīlā ca
cañcalāsmin kathaṃ sthitā

śrī-samudra-kanyā ūcuḥ—the daughters of the ocean said; nityam—always; gṛha-śatam—a hundred homes; yānti—goes; dātrīthe giver; duḥkham—sufferinbgs; sukham—happiness; janān—to the people; svīyaown; katham—how?; suśīlāgood; ca—and; cañcalārestless; asmin—in this; katham—how?; sthitāsituated.

English translation of verse 5.18.4:

The gopīs that had been daughters of the ocean said: Why does Kṛṣṇa's saintly beloved, the goddess of fortune, bring happiness or suffering to hundreds of homes every day? Why, even though she is rstless and fickle, does she always stay by His side?
