तव मुष्टि-प्रहारेण
भृशाम् ऐरावतो गजः
जानुभ्यां धरणीं स्पृष्ट्वा
कश्मलं परमं ययौ
tava muṣṭi-prahāreṇa
bhṛśām airāvato gajaḥ
jānubhyāṃ dharaṇīṃ spṛṣṭvā
kaśmalaṃ paramaṃ yayau
tava—of you; muṣṭi-prahāreṇa—by the punches; bhṛśām—greatly; airāvataḥ—Auravata; gajaḥ—the elephant; jānubhyām—on both knees; dharaṇīm—the earth; spṛṣṭvā—touching; kaśmalam—distress; paramam—great; yayau—has attained.
English translation of verse 2.23.23:
The blows of your fists have made the elephant Airāvata faint. His knees now touch the ground.
