The Garga-samhita Verse 2.22.38, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. प्रियायास् तत्र शृङ्गारं
चकार कुशलेश्वरः
पत्रावली-यावकाग्रैः
पुष्पैः कज्जल-कुङ्कुमैः

priyāyās tatra śṛṅgāraṃ
cakāra kuśaleśvaraḥ
patrāvalī-yāvakāgraiḥ
puṣpaiḥ kajjala-kuṅkumaiḥ

priyāyāḥ—of His beloved; tatra—there; śṛṅgāram—decoration; cakāradid; kuśaleśvaraḥ—the master of all skilfull artists; patrāvalī—pictures and designs; yāvakāgraiḥ—with red lac; puṣpaiḥ—with flowers; kajjalawith kajjala; kuṅkumaiḥ—and kunkuma.

English translation of verse 2.22.38:

There Lord Kṛṣṇa, the master of all skillful artists, decorated His beloved with many pictures and designs drawn with colors made from flowers, yāvaka, kajjala, and kuṅkuma.
