काश्चित् पीता विचित्राश् च
श्यामाश् च हरितास् तथा
ताम्रा धूम्रा घन-श्यामा
घन-श्यामे गतेक्षणाः

kāścit pītā vicitrāś ca
śyāmāś ca haritās tathā
tāmrā dhūmrā ghana-śyāmā
ghana-śyāme gatekṣaṇāḥ

kāścit—some; pītāyellow; vicitrāś—multicolored; ca—and; śyāmāś—black; ca—and; haritāḥgreen; tathā—so; tāmrābrown; dhūmrāsmokey; ghana- śyāmāthe color of clouds; ghana-śyāme—on Kṛṣṇa, who was dark as a cloud; gatagone; īkṣaṇāḥ—eyes.

English translation of verse 2.10.8:

Some were yellow, some multicolored, some black, some green, some smoke-colored, and some cloud-colored. All their eyes were placed on Kṛṣṇa, His form dark as a cloud.
