श्रुत्वा वंशी-रवं गोप्यः
सम्भ्रमच् छीघ्रम् उत्थितः
पयांसि पाययाम् आसुर्
लालयित्वा सुतान् पृथक्
śrutvā vaṃśī-ravaṃ gopyaḥ
sambhramac chīghram utthitaḥ
payāṃsi pāyayām āsur
lālayitvā sutān pṛthak
śrutvā—hearing; vaṃśī—of the flute; ravam—the sound; gopyaḥ—the gopīs; sambhramat—fainted; śīghram—at once3; utthitaḥ—stood up; payāṃsi—milk; pāyayām āsuḥ—made flow; lālayitvā—embracing; sutān—sons; pṛthak—individually.
English translation of verse 2.8.7:
Hearing the sound of the flute, the gopīs fainted and then suddenly stood up.
As milk flowed from them, each embraced her son.
