पत्न्यां द्रोणाचलस्य च

bhāratāt paścima-diśi
śalmalī-dvīpa-madhyataḥ
govardhano janma lebhe
patnyāṃ droṇācalasya ca

West of Bhārata-varṣa, in the middle of Śalmalī-dvīpa, Govardhana was born from the wife of Mount Droṇa.
