नैवेषितुं प्रभुर् अयं बलिनां बलीयान्
माया न शब्द उत नो विषयी-करोति
तद् ब्रह्म पूर्णम् अमृतं परमं प्रशान्तं
शुद्धं परात् परतरं शरणं गताः स्मः
naiveṣituṃ prabhur ayaṃ balināṃ balīyān
māyā na śabda uta no viṣayī-karoti
tad brahma pūrṇam amṛtaṃ paramaṃ praśāntaṃ
śuddhaṃ parāt parataraṃ śaraṇaṃ gatāḥ smaḥ
na—not; eva—indeed; īṣitum—to control; prabhuḥ—able; ayam—He; balinām—than the strongest; balīyān—stronger; māyā—illusion; na—not; śabdaḥ—sound; uta—indeed; na—not; u—indeed; viṣayī-karoti—become in the realm of perception; tat—that; brahma—Supreme; pūrṇam—perfect and complete; amṛtam—eternal; paramam—supreme; praśāntam—peaceful; śuddham—pure; parāt parataram—greater than the greatest; śaraṇam—shelter; gatāḥ—gone; smaḥ—we.
English translation of verse 1.11.9:
The strongest of the strong cannot conquer Him. The potency of illusion cannot conquer Him. The Vedas cannot bring Him within their realm of perception. Of Him, the perfect, complete, eternal, peaceful, and pure Supreme Personality of Godhead, we take shelter.
