The Garga-samhita Verse 1.5.24, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 5 (The Lord’s Appearance) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

वसुश् चैवोद्धवः साक्षाद्
दक्षो ऽक्रूरो दया-परः
हृदीको धनदश् चैव
कृतवर्मा त्व् अपां पतिः

vasuś caivoddhavaḥ sākṣād
dakṣo 'krūro dayā-paraḥ
hṛdīko dhanadaś caiva
kṛtavarmā tv apāṃ patiḥ

vasuḥVasu; ca—also; eva—indeed; uddhavaḥUddhava; sākṣāt—directly;

English translation of verse 1.5.24:

dakṣaḥDakṣa; akrūraḥAkrūra; dayā-paraḥ—merciful; hṛdīkaḥHṛdīka;

dhanadaḥ—Kuvera; ca—also; eva—indeed; kṛtavarmā—Kṛtavarmā; tindeed;

apām—of waters; patiḥ—the lord.

Vasu will decsned as Uddhava, Dakṣa as kind Akrūra, Kuvera as Hṛdīka, and Varuṇa as Kṛtavarmā.
