The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.23.90, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 90 of Madhya-khanda chapter 23—“Wandering about Navadvipa On the Day the Lord Delivered the Kazi”.

মৃদঙ্গ-মন্দিরা-শঙ্খ আছে সর্ব-ঘরে দুর্গোত্সব-কালে বাদ্য বাজা’ বার তরে ॥ ৯০ ॥
मृदङ्ग-मन्दिरा-शङ्ख आछे सर्व-घरे दुर्गोत्सव-काले वाद्य वाजा’ बार तरे ॥ ९० ॥
mṛdaṅga-mandirā-śaṅkha āche sarva-ghare durgotsava-kāle vādya vājā’ bāra tare || 90 ||
mrdanga-mandira-sankha ache sarva-ghare durgotsava-kale vadya vaja’ bara tare (90)
English translation:
(90) They all had mṛdaṅgas, karatālas, and conchshells in their homes that they used during the Durgā-pūjā festival.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
Every religious-minded person had musical instruments like mṛdaṅga and conchshell in their houses. They used them in autumn or on the occasion of Mahāmāyā-pūjā in the month of Caitra. Such worship is performed for the purpose of attaining temporary worldly happiness.
Those musical instruments were now used in the constant glorification of Hari.
