Verse 2.8.190

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 2.8.190:

এ কোন্ অদ্ভুত—যা’র সেবকের নৃত্য সর্ব-বিঘ্ন নাশ হয, জগত্ পবিত্র ॥ ১৯০ ॥

ए कोन् अद्भुत—या’र सेवकेर नृत्य सर्व-विघ्न नाश हय, जगत् पवित्र ॥ १९० ॥

e kon adbhuta—yā’ra sevakera nṛtya sarva-vighna nāśa haya, jagat pavitra || 190 ||

e kon adbhuta—ya’ra sevakera nrtya sarva-vighna nasa haya, jagat pavitra (190)

English translation:

(190) This was not so wonderful, for by even the dancing of the Lord’s servants all obstacles are destroyed and the entire world is purified.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (11.14.24) it is stated:

vāg gadgadā dravate yasya cittaṃ rudaty abhīkṣṇaṃ hasati kvacic ca vilajja udgāyati nṛtyate ca

mad-bhakti-yukto bhuvanaṃ punāti

“A devotee whose speech is sometimes choked up, whose heart melts, who cries continually and sometimes laughs, who feels ashamed and cries out loudly and then dances—a devotee thus fixed in loving service to Me purifies the entire universe.” In the Nārada-pañcarātra it is said:

saṅkīrtana-dhvaniṃśrutvā ye ca nṛtyanti vaiṣṇavāḥteṣāṃ

pāda-raja-sparśāt sadya pūtā vasundharā

“Mother earth is immediately purified by the touch of the dust from the feet of the Vaiṣṇavas who dance to the sound of saṅkīrtana.”
