The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 1.6.12, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. श्री-परीक्षिद् उवाच—
स-गद्गदम् उवाचाश्रु-धारा-मीलित-लोचने ।
यत्नाद् उन्मीलयन् नत्वा स-कम्प-पुलकाचितः ॥ १२ ॥

śrī-parīkṣid uvāca
sa-gadgadam uvācāśru-dhārā-mīlita-locane |
yatnād unmīlayan natvā sa-kampa-pulakācitaḥ || 12 ||

Śrī Parīkṣit Mahārāja said: Śrī Nārada opened his eyes that had become shut tightly by a flow of tears after great effort. After offering obeisances to all of them, he began to speak in a choked voice, his body trembling and hair standing on end.
