We have entered the temple from east. To the left is Padagaseri Sri Ramalinga Svamigal Sannidhi. He was a great devotee of the Lord. He collected money through charity and renovated the Gopuram with the money. As we enter the temple from the east we find this Pralayakalarudra Sannidhi.He is another form of
Lord Siva. He is holding a Gada with one hand and a Man with the other. At the back he is holding an iron rod.

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
