Above in the same pillar we can see the sculptures of Caturbhuja Garudan and Sri Rama. Garudan is in Parsvasuci with one Janu touching the floor and the other Janu in Kuncita. Left Pada is in Agratala and the right Pada is in Kuncita. His main two hands are on Uru and his back two hands are lifted up facing the sky (Uttana).

Kumbakonam is considered as one of the holiest places in Tamil Nadu and is known for its temples and Mathas (monasteries which were centres of Brahmanical learning). These photographs depict the connection between the sculptures in the temples and Natya Shastra and related texts dealing with iconography.
