This terra cotta sculpture shows an image of Ganesha, from the 17th century A.D.—Ganesha as the God of obstacles (Vighnesvara) is popular in Nepal. This image is shown with his mount, the mouse, holding his usual attributes as an axe, a sword, lotus flower and tooth.

Vighnesvara can also be spelled as Vighneswara, Vighneshvara, Vighneshwara or Vighneśvara.
