Vṛttoktiratna (वृत्तोक्तिरत्न) is the name of a work ascribed to Nārāyaṇabhaṭṭatāra (of Tārā family) related to the topics of Sanskrit prosody (chandas) but having an unknown period of composition.

The Vṛttoktiratna is a metrical paraphrase of Piṅgala’s rules of Sanskrit prosody. The verses of this treatise are interpreted in a double sense throughout. Nārāyaṇa Bhaṭṭa himself states about his family in the colophon of the work. The text is divided into six chapters called adhikāra. Nārāyaṇa discusses various aspects of chanda literature in these six chapters. The first chapter deals with the saṃjñā section, where as second describes mātrā chandas. Subscequently the third chapter elaborates laukikasamavṛttas, the fourth viṣamavarṇavṛtta and ardhasamavṛttas, fifth samavṛttas and finally the sixth chapter deals with gāthā metres. The sixth chapter also elaborates the metres, which are not discussed in previous chapters. Nārāyaṇabhaṭṭa also composed an auto commentary namely Parīkṣā on the text. Besides this text and its commentaries no other work of his noticed.
