Varṣopalagolaka (वर्षोपलगोलक) refers to a sweet food-preparation (with wheat flour and rice flour), according to the Mānasollāsa III.1386-87, and is commonly found in literature dealing with the topics of dietetics and culinary art, also known as Pākaśāstra or Pākakalā.—Mānasollāsa mentions sweets such as kāsāra, uduṃbara and varṣopalagolaka prepared with wheat flour and rice flour. Kṣīraprakāra which is similar to rasgulla according to Om Prakash is referred to in Mānasollāsa.
