Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarVanaspatyādi (वनस्पत्यादि).—A class of compound words headed by वनस्पति (vanaspati) which retain the original accent of the members of the compound, as for example, in the compound word वनस्पति (vanaspati) both the words वन (vana) and पति (pati) have got their initial vowel अ (a) accented acute; cf Kas.on P.VI.2.140.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
