Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionaryvaḷacaṇa (वळचण).—f The bottom or lower edge of a chappara or thatch. v bāndha. Hence understood in the sense of Eaves. Pr. bhukēlēṃ gurūṃ va0 ōḍhatēṃ (A hungry bullock &c. pulls at the edge of the thatch.) Used of evil deeds being prompted by hunger or necessity. vaḷacaṇīcēṃ pāṇī aḍhyālā (jāta nāhīṃ -gēlēṃ -caḍhalēṃ &c.) The water of the eaves (does not rise, or is risen) to the ridge.
