Source: Shodhganga: Bhismacaritam a critical studyVairāsikī (वैरासिकी) is the name of a Sanskrit metre (chandas) [defined as वं.इ.इ.इ] of the Vaṃśastha type as employed in the Bhīṣmacarita (Bhishma Charitra) which is a mahākāvya (‘epic poem’) written by Hari Narayan Dikshit.—We find twenty-one examples of Vairāsikī variety of Vaṃśastha metre in the present poem. The fifteenth canto (verse XV.1 ) of the Bhīṣmacarita opens with an example of Vairāsikī. The other examples are as follows: XV.25, XV.46, XVI.7, XVI.21, XVI.29, XVII.12, XVII.25, XVII.40, XVIII.19, XVIII.26, XVIII.33, XVIII.49, XVIII.51, XIX.8, XIX.26, XIX.29, XX.13, XX.22, XX.27 and XX.28.
