Utsavamaṇḍapa (उत्सवमण्डप) is a pavilion constructed in different parts of the town, by the side of the main streets, wherever the image of the deity was taken in procession during the festival days. The God was taken in a palanquin in procession around the city. At important places of the city, the palanquin was kept in a small pavilion built specifically for that purpose. Thus, the devotees of the town had a close view of the deity, at the same time got certain forms of worship also done. Such maṇḍapas are called by the name utsavamaṇḍapa.

Utsavamaṇḍapa generally consist of one bay with or with out a porch. Utsavamaṇḍapa are also built, like any other maṇḍapa discussed above, generally these are of the trivarga type only.
