Ūrṇu (ऊर्णु).—2 U. [ऊर्णो (ūrṇo) (rṇau) ति, उर्णुते, और्णोत्-और्णुत, ऊर्णुनावनुवे, और्ण-र्णा-र्णु-वीत्, ऊर्ण-र्णु-विष्यति-ते, ऊर्ण-र्णु-वितुम्, ऊर्णित (ti, urṇute, aurṇot-aurṇuta, ūrṇunāvanuve, aurṇa-rṇā-rṇu-vīt, ūrṇa-rṇu-viṣyati-te, ūrṇa-rṇu-vitum, ūrṇita)]

1) To cover, surround, hide; ऊर्णुनाव स शस्त्रौघैर्वानराणामनी- किनीम् (ūrṇunāva sa śastraughairvānarāṇāmanī- kinīm) Bhaṭṭikāvya 14.13,3.47; Śiśupālavadha 2.14.

2) To cover oneself. -Caus. ऊर्णावयति (ūrṇāvayati). -Desid. ऊर्णुनूषति, ऊर्णुन-नु-विषति (ūrṇunūṣati, ūrṇuna-nu-viṣati).
