Ujjenīpura corresponds to Ujjain, as mentioned in the Haralahalli inscriptions (wrongly described as being at Halebīḍ).—This record mentions king Vikramāditya of Ujjenīpura, i.e. Ujjain. In his lineage, it says, after “several kings” whom it does not particularise, there was Vīra-Vikramaditya I., also called Vikrama and Vikramāṅka, “who became illustrious in being called the lord of the Banavāsi province”.
