Source: MDPI Books: The Ocean of HeroesUditātmajā (उदितात्मजा) refers to “that which originated in oneself through the rise” (of the moon and the sun), according to the 10th-century Ḍākārṇava-tantra: one of the last Tibetan Tantric scriptures belonging to the Buddhist Saṃvara tradition consisting of 51 chapters.—Accordingly, “[...] Having made offerings of the nectar and so on and [articles] originated in himself through the moon[rise] and sunrise (somasūrya-uditātmajā), and having performed the confession of sin and others, he should reflect on compassion and so on. Then, [having made] himself being of the nature of emptiness, he should contemplate [the mantra of] yogaśuddha (“being purified by yoga”). [...]”.
Tibetan Buddhism includes schools such as Nyingma, Kadampa, Kagyu and Gelug. Their primary canon of literature is divided in two broad categories: The Kangyur, which consists of Buddha’s words, and the Tengyur, which includes commentaries from various sources. Esotericism and tantra techniques (vajrayāna) are collected indepently.
